Lupus nephritis

Lupus nephritis refers to kidney inflammation that occurs when systemic lupus erythematosus affects the kidneys. It is one of the main complications and leading causes of death in systemic lupus erythematosus, and also a common secondary kidney disease. This disease is more common in women of childbearing age, typically between 20 and 40 years old. The main symptoms include manifestations of systemic lupus erythematosus and clinical symptoms of kidney lesions. Early stages often present as asymptomatic proteinuria or hematuria.
