Wegener's granulomatosis

Wegener's granulomatosis is a necrotizing granulomatous vasculitis affecting small arteries, veins, and capillaries, and occasionally large arteries. It is characterized by necrotizing granulomas of the upper and lower respiratory tracts, glomerulonephritis, and vasculitis affecting other organs. This disease commonly affects individuals aged 40-50 years, with a slightly higher incidence in males than females. Clinical manifestations often include rhinitis and sinusitis, lung lesions, and progressive renal failure. It can also affect joints, eyes, and skin, and may involve the eyes, heart, nervous system, and ears.
