SAPHO syndrome is a chronic disease primarily affecting the skin, bones, and joints. It is characterized by synovitis, acne, pustulosis, hyperostosis, and osteomyelitis, from which its name is derived. It is also known as synovitis-acne-pustulosis-hyperostosis-osteomyelitis syndrome. This is a rare disease, with most reported cases in Europe, and others in North America, Japan, and Australia. Cases in China are extremely rare.
