Rheumatoid arthritis

Rheumatic arthritis refers to arthritis associated with Group A beta-hemolytic streptococcal infection, usually secondary to untreated Group A beta-hemolytic streptococcal diseases such as pharyngitis and tonsillitis. Typical manifestations include polyarticular, migratory involvement of large joints, with pain, swelling, redness, and warmth in the affected joints. Rheumatic arthritis is more common in the winter and spring rainy seasons.
