Eosinophilia

Eosinophilia is characterized by a persistent increase in eosinophil counts in the blood or bone marrow and extensive eosinophil infiltration in tissues. Clinically, it is often associated with various diseases and represents a disease process, particularly a non-specific reaction to parasitic infections, allergic diseases, connective tissue diseases, and tumors. Eosinophilia is classified by the degree of eosinophil elevation as follows: Mild: Eosinophils (0.4–1.5) × 10^9/L Moderate: Eosinophils (1.5–5) × 10^9/L Severe: Eosinophils > 5 × 10^9/L
