Avian influenza

Avian influenza, also known as human avian influenza, is an acute respiratory infectious disease caused by certain subtypes of avian influenza A viruses that infect poultry. The main subtypes of human avian influenza viruses include H5N1, H5N6, H7N9, H7N7, H9N2, H10N8, H7N4, etc. The clinical severity varies depending on the infecting subtype. The general population is susceptible, and those who have had close contact with sick poultry are more likely to be infected. It can occur throughout the year, with a higher incidence in winter and spring.
