Cystic kidney disease

Cystic kidney disease is a group of diseases characterized by the presence of single or multiple cysts in the kidneys, including polycystic kidney disease, simple renal cysts, and medullary cystic kidney disease. Polycystic kidney disease is the most common, followed by simple renal cysts. Polycystic kidney disease often occurs in adolescence or early adulthood, while simple renal cysts are common in people over 50 years old. Multicystic dysplastic kidney and medullary cystic kidney disease are rare and mostly occur in infants and young children.
