Detailed description

Leukemia is a group of malignant clonal diseases of hematopoietic stem cells, characterized by the excessive proliferation of abnormal white blood cells in the bone marrow, spleen, and other hematopoietic tissues, leading to a reduction in normal blood cells. It can be primarily divided into four subtypes: acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL), acute myeloid leukemia (AML), chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL), and chronic myeloid leukemia (CML). Acute monocytic leukemia, also known as M5 type in the French-American-British (FAB) classification, is a common type of acute myeloid leukemia. This disease may present with a significant increase in monocytes in the complete blood count or bone marrow. Common symptoms include anemia, infection, fever, and bleeding.
