Heatstroke

Heatstroke refers to an acute illness caused by high temperature and/or high humidity and windless environment, due to dysfunction of the thermoregulatory center, sweat gland failure, and excessive loss of water and electrolytes, mainly manifested by central nervous system and/or cardiovascular dysfunction. It most commonly occurs in summer, in high temperature, high humidity, and poorly ventilated environments, presenting as delirium, lethargy, seizures, and coma.
