Persistent vegetative state

Persistent vegetative state, also known as vegetative state, refers to a condition where patients lose cognitive function of themselves and the external world, do not respond to calls, and cannot communicate with the outside world. They can breathe naturally, have periodic wakefulness and sleep, spontaneous or reflexive eye-opening, meaningless crying or laughing, and tearing. Severe brain damage caused by various reasons can lead to a persistent vegetative state.
