Detailed description
Spina bifida occulta is the most common type of occult spinal dysraphism, often occurring in the lumbosacral region. It involves one or more vertebral laminae that are not fully closed, but there is no protrusion of spinal canal contents.
Most cases of spina bifida occulta remain asymptomatic throughout life with no external manifestations. A small number of cases may cause symptoms such as enuresis, low back pain, or leg pain, requiring timely intervention.
