Craniosynostosis

Craniosynostosis refers to the premature fusion of cranial sutures, resulting in abnormal skull shape, leading to increased intracranial pressure, mental retardation, neurological damage, and developmental disorders. The incidence of craniosynostosis in newborns is very low, accounting for 38% of all types of cranial deformities, with a higher incidence in male infants than in female infants.
