Otogenic brain abscess is a severe and often life-threatening complication of suppurative otitis media and mastoiditis. Otogenic brain abscesses most commonly occur in the temporal lobe of the cerebrum, followed by the cerebellum and other parts of the cerebrum.
It predominantly affects young and middle-aged adults, usually as a sequela of otitis media. Symptoms may include headache, fever, and lethargy.
