Cardiac myxoma

Cardiac myxoma is a common primary cardiac tumor, accounting for approximately 50% to 70% of all cardiac tumors. Most tumors are benign, but the tumor mass is often gelatinous, easily detaches locally, and can cause vascular embolism events. In severe cases, syncope or even sudden death may occur. Cardiac myxoma can occur at all ages, but it is most common in adults aged 30 to 50, and more frequently seen in women. Common symptoms include dyspnea, palpitations, and syncope.
