Costochondritis

Costochondral perichondritis is an inflammatory reaction of the perichondrial tissue covering the surface of the costal cartilage. It generally occurs in women between 25 and 35 years old, primarily affecting the 2nd to 5th ribs. Most patients experience unilateral onset.
