Detailed description
Gynecomastia, also known as male breast enlargement or male mammary gland development, is the most common breast disease in men. It refers to the abnormal proliferation of unilateral or bilateral breast tissue in males at different stages and ages due to various reasons, leading to endocrine disorders, increased estrogen, and decreased androgen.
This disease is common in adolescent males and men over 50 years old.
The main symptoms are unilateral or bilateral breast enlargement, which may be accompanied by breast pain. A disc-shaped nodule may be palpable under the areola, and in some cases, nipple retraction and nipple discharge may be observed.
