Detailed description
Bromhidrosis is a skin condition characterized by abnormal sweat gland secretion and the decomposition of sweat by microorganisms on the body surface, producing a distinctive odor. It manifests as generalized or localized hyperhidrosis with a foul-smell.
Bromhidrosis is common during puberty due to increased apocrine gland secretion caused by sex hormones. This can lead to axillary osmidrosis, commonly known as body odor, which tends to lessen or disappear with age. Additionally, excessive sweating of the feet combined with non-breathable footwear can result in foot odor.
