Nasal cleft is a congenital malformation of the external nose caused by abnormal embryonic development. Clinically, it presents as a deep groove along the midline of the nasal bridge, dividing the nose into two parts, or a full-thickness cleft in a localized area of the nasal ala. It may be accompanied by other maxillofacial deformities.
