Perianal abscess
Perianal abscess, also known as anorectal abscess, is an acute suppurative infection occurring within or around the anorectal tissues. The infection spreads to the loose adipose connective tissue in the perianal spaces, forming an abscess. Based on the location of the abscess, it can be classified into superficial perianal abscess and deep perianal abscess. The main symptom of superficial perianal abscess is persistent throbbing pain, making it difficult to sit comfortably. The main symptoms of deep perianal abscess are distending pain, fever, and general discomfort. This condition can occur at any age, with a higher incidence in males than in females.
