Teratoma is a tumor originating from germ cells. It is named for its unusual appearance, as it may contain components such as hair, teeth, and bone. This condition is common in children and young women. The most common site for teratomas in females is the ovary, while in males, it is most frequently found in the testis. Teratomas are broadly classified into two types: One type is mature teratoma, which is a benign tumor, but has a 2% to 4% chance of transforming into malignancy. The other type is immature teratoma, which is malignant and may recur or metastasize to other sites after surgery. Generally, benign teratomas are more common than malignant ones. Teratomas found in the ovaries of females are mostly benign, while those found in the testes of males are mostly malignant.

A linea alba hernia is an abdominal hernia that occurs in the midline of the abdominal wall (i.e., the linea alba). The vast majority occur in the upper abdomen, hence it is also known as an epigastric hernia. This condition is more common in middle-aged and elderly individuals, with a higher incidence in males than females. Typically, a linea alba hernia presents with no significant symptoms other than a mass, and it can sometimes be misdiagnosed as an abdominal wall lipoma. Surgery is the only effective method to cure a linea alba hernia.

Peritonitis is an inflammation of the peritoneum caused by physical, chemical, or bacterial irritation. According to its mechanism, it can be divided into primary peritonitis and secondary peritonitis. Primary peritonitis: Refers to peritonitis caused by pathogens entering the abdominal cavity via the bloodstream, lymphatic system, intestinal wall, or female reproductive tract, without an obvious primary infectious lesion within the abdominal cavity. Secondary peritonitis: This is the most common clinical type, secondary to infection of intra-abdominal organs, perforation or rupture of hollow organs, etc. Patients with peritonitis mainly present with abdominal pain, abdominal distension, abdominal tenderness, abdominal muscle rigidity, rebound tenderness, nausea, vomiting, and fever. In severe cases, it can lead to a drop in blood pressure and systemic toxic reactions. If the condition is delayed and not treated promptly, it can lead to adhesive intestinal obstruction, toxic shock, sepsis, and abscesses, threatening the patient's life.
