Familial adenomatous polyposis

Familial adenomatous polyposis (FAP) is an autosomal dominant inherited disease, occasionally seen in individuals without a family history. It is characterized by the presence of numerous adenomatous polyps of varying sizes throughout the colorectum. Polyps typically appear around 15 years of age and increase in number with age. Symptoms such as abdominal discomfort, abdominal pain, and diarrhea may occur.

Alcoholic fatty liver is a reversible alcoholic liver disease characterized by hepatic steatosis, caused by long-term, excessive alcohol consumption. Patients are usually asymptomatic or experience only mild, non-specific symptoms such as right upper quadrant pain, fatigue, and loss of appetite. Women are more susceptible to alcoholic fatty liver than men.
