The name of the syndrome is an acronym derived from the first letter of each of these features. It predominantly affects males between 40 and 60 years of age. Common symptoms include paresthesia in the limbs, such as a pins-and-needles sensation or a glove-and-stocking distribution, along with muscle weakness, hepatosplenomegaly, endocrine dysfunction, and skin hyperpigmentation.
