Electroencephalogram

Electroencephalography (EEG) is a method of examining brain function by amplifying and displaying or recording the brain's spontaneous bioelectrical activity. EEG examinations typically involve attaching electrodes to the head or having the patient wear a cap fitted with electrodes to record the brain's electrical activity. It is a safe and non-invasive method for examining brain function that cannot be replaced by CT or MRI scans.

Vertebrobasilar Steal Syndrome

Vertebrobasilar steal syndrome is a type of cerebral artery steal syndrome. It refers to a condition where severe stenosis or occlusion of the vertebrobasilar artery can cause blood from the internal carotid artery system to flow retrogradely into the vertebrobasilar artery via the posterior communicating artery for compensation. This leads to symptoms of ischemia in one or both internal carotid artery systems, such as dizziness, blurred vision, double vision, ataxia, hemiplegia, and aphasia.
