It is a serious arrhythmia that can lead to sudden cardiac death. Common symptoms include increased heart rate, as well as dizziness, palpitations, and chest tightness.
Paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia in children
Pediatric paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia (PSVT) refers to a specific type of arrhythmia that occurs in children. The heart is divided into atria and ventricles. PSVT is a tachycardia (heart rate greater than 150 beats/min) that originates in the atria or atrioventricular junctional area. The incidence of this condition is approximately 1/25,000. It is more common in infants, especially male infants under 4 months of age.

Coronary arteriovenous fistula (CAVF) refers to an abnormal communication between a coronary artery or its branches and any heart chamber, the coronary sinus or its venous tributaries, or a great vessel near the heart (such as the pulmonary artery, pulmonary vein, or superior vena cava). Since most fistulas drain into the right heart system, they are called coronary arteriovenous fistulas. CAVF is a rare congenital heart malformation resulting from abnormal cardiovascular development during the embryonic period. Most patients with this condition are asymptomatic, while a few experience easy fatigability, dyspnea on exertion, and chest pain.

The pericardium is a thin membrane covering the heart, consisting of two layers. The visceral pericardium (meaning adjacent to the organ) is the inner layer, closely adhering to the heart, while the parietal pericardium is the outer layer. The space between the parietal and visceral pericardium is called the pericardial cavity. The pericardial cavity normally contains 15-50 ml of serous fluid, which acts as a lubricant. Pericardial effusion occurs when the pericardium itself is diseased or when other conditions affect the pericardium, leading to excessive fluid secretion that accumulates in the pericardial cavity. Early pericardial effusion may not present with obvious symptoms. As the condition progresses, symptoms such as dyspnea may appear, and severe cases can lead to shock.

Syncope refers to a transient loss of consciousness caused by temporary cerebral hypoperfusion due to various reasons. They typically recover within seconds to minutes, able to stand and walk, though some may experience general weakness for up to half an hour. Syncope is usually caused by cerebral hypoperfusion resulting from various heart and brain diseases, but can also be caused by other diseases and factors.
