Chest trauma is primarily caused by external physical, chemical, or biological factors, leading to structural damage or functional impairment of the chest tissues or organs. Classification of Chest Trauma: Based on skin integrity, it can be classified into closed injury and open injury. Based on the causative factor, it can be classified into firearm injury, incised wound, stab wound, laceration, crush injury, sprain, contusion, etc. Based on the depth of injured tissues, it can be classified into soft tissue trauma, bone and joint trauma, and visceral trauma. Main symptoms include pain, swelling, and dysfunction at the injured site. Severe symptoms such as hemorrhage, shock, dyspnea, and altered consciousness may also occur.
