Obstructive hydrocephalus

Hydrocephalus is a relatively common craniocerebral disease. According to cerebrospinal fluid dynamics, it can be classified into obstructive hydrocephalus and communicating hydrocephalus. Obstructive hydrocephalus, also known as non-communicating hydrocephalus, is caused by obstruction of cerebrospinal fluid circulation within or near the ventricles. The main symptoms include headache, vomiting, irritability, and lethargy or coma. Infants may experience rapid head circumference enlargement.

Otogenic brain abscess is a severe and often life-threatening complication of suppurative otitis media and mastoiditis. Otogenic brain abscesses most commonly occur in the temporal lobe of the cerebrum, followed by the cerebellum and other parts of the cerebrum. It predominantly affects young and middle-aged adults, usually as a sequela of otitis media. Symptoms may include headache, fever, and lethargy.
