Childhood diabetes
Pediatric diabetes is an endocrine metabolic disease caused by insufficient insulin secretion, mainly characterized by polydipsia, polyphagia, polyuria, and weight loss. According to the etiology, it can be divided into 4 types. Among them, more than 95% of pediatric diabetes cases are type 1 diabetes. Type 1 diabetes, type 2 diabetes, and some special types of diabetes have a certain degree of heredity. Type 1: Caused by the destruction of pancreatic β-cells in the body, leading to absolute insulin deficiency and elevated blood sugar. Type 2: Mainly occurs in obese patients, characterized by high blood sugar due to impaired insulin utilization. Secondary diabetes: Diabetes that develops secondary to various diseases. Special types of diabetes: Such as neonatal diabetes.
