View detailsSquamous cell carcinoma
Squamous cell carcinoma is a malignant tumor that commonly occurs in areas covered by squamous epithelium, such as the skin, esophagus, cervix, and vagina. The affected populations for squamous cell carcinoma vary depending on the site. The following briefly describes some representative diseases: Lung cancer: Common in elderly men. Esophageal cancer: Primarily occurs in the Taihang Mountains, Qinling Mountains, and the border areas of Fujian and Guangdong. Squamous cell carcinoma of the oral and maxillofacial region: Mostly occurs in elderly individuals, with a higher incidence in males. Eyelid squamous cell carcinoma: Common in middle-aged and elderly patients. Cervical cancer: The peak age of incidence is 50 years old.

View detailsTumor lysis syndrome
Tumor lysis syndrome refers to a series of complications that occur in patients due to the rapid dissolution of tumor cells, leading to the rapid release of intracellular contents and their metabolites into the bloodstream, primarily manifesting as renal dysfunction. It is characterized by the accumulation of large amounts of metabolic products in the body (including hyperuricemia, hyperphosphatemia, hypocalcemia, and hyperkalemia), leading to acute renal failure. Patients often present with anuria, hypocalcemic tetany, ascites, generalized edema, and dyspnea. If not treated promptly, it can lead to severe consequences.
View detailsCarcinoid tumor
Carcinoid is a low-grade malignant tumor originating from endocrine cells in the digestive tract and other organs. The cells often exhibit localized, infiltrative, and slow growth. Although the tissue structure resembles cancer and has a tendency for malignancy, metastasis is rare, hence the name "carcinoid." Carcinoid is commonly found in the digestive tract and lungs, and can also be seen in the thymus, thyroid, ovaries, cervix, and testes.
View detailsParaneoplastic syndrome
Paraneoplastic syndrome refers to endocrine, neurological, digestive, hematopoietic, musculoskeletal, renal, skin, and other lesions caused by abnormal autoimmune reactions to tumor products or other reasons, leading to corresponding clinical manifestations. It does not include symptoms resulting from direct spread, infiltration, compression, or metastasis of malignant tumors; nor does it include symptoms caused by radiotherapy, chemotherapy, or anticancer drug treatment for malignant tumors. Other conditions, such as opportunistic infections occurring in malignant tumor patients receiving long-term immunosuppressant therapy, or systemic metabolic disorders caused by malignant tumor invasion of an organ, are also not included in paraneoplastic syndrome.
View detailsCystic lymphangioma
Cystic lymphangioma is not a true neoplasm but a congenital benign hamartoma, resulting from tumor-like malformation when primitive lymphatic sacs in certain areas are isolated from the lymphatic system during embryonic development. This condition commonly occurs in the neck, especially the posterior triangle of the neck, and occasionally in the axilla, groin, and retroperitoneal region. It usually shows progressive, expansive growth, but can also remain stable, and in rare cases, may spontaneously regress.
