Gonorrhea
Gonorrhea
Gonorrhea is a sexually transmitted disease caused by Neisseria gonorrhoeae infection. It typically infects the urethra, cervix, rectum, pharynx, or conjunctiva, leading to irritation and purulent changes. Dissemination to the skin and joints is less common. It is a major cause of urethritis in men and cervicitis in women. This disease is common in sexually active young and middle-aged men and women. The main symptoms include redness, swelling, pain, and pus discharge at the affected site.
