Intracranial arteriovenous malformation (AVM) is a congenital disease characterized by abnormal development of cerebral blood vessels. The incidence is slightly higher in males than in females, with the typical age of onset being 20-39 years. 64% of cases are diagnosed or manifest before the age of 40.
