Transient ischemic attack (TIA) refers to a transient neurological dysfunction caused by local cerebral or retinal ischemia, which can fully recover within 24 hours, and no lesions can be found on imaging examinations (CT or MRI). Clinically, the symptoms of the vast majority (97%) of TIA patients can be relieved within 3 hours. If the symptoms last for more than 3 hours, up to 95% of TIA patients will show imaging and pathological changes. This disease is common in middle-aged and elderly people, with more males than females. The onset is often sudden, and the symptoms are short-lived.
