Cor pulmonale

Cor pulmonale, also known as pulmonary heart disease, is a condition where increased pulmonary vascular resistance due to bronchial, pulmonary, thoracic, or pulmonary vascular lesions leads to pulmonary hypertension, ultimately causing changes in cardiac structure or function. The main symptoms of cor pulmonale include cough, dyspnea, weakness, and fatigue. As the disease progresses, respiratory failure and heart failure may occur.

Triple-H Syndrome

Clinically, "three highs" refers to hypertension, hyperglycemia, and hyperlipidemia. The specific diagnostic criteria are: Hypertension: At least three blood pressure measurements taken on different days are consistently above 140/90 mmHg under normal conditions. Hyperglycemia: Refers to a long-term elevated concentration of glucose in the blood, with a fasting blood glucose level above 6.1 mmol/L and a postprandial (2 hours after a meal) blood glucose level above 7.8 mmol/L. Hyperlipidemia: Diagnosed if total cholesterol is above 5.1 mmol/L, or triglycerides are above 1.7 mmol/L.
