Menstruation is a physiological phenomenon in women, characterized by periodic vaginal bleeding. The interval between two bleeding episodes is approximately one month, and each episode lasts about 2 to 8 days. If there is a change in the regularity of menstruation, it is called menstrual irregularity. The main symptoms include menstruation occurring more than 7 days earlier or later than expected, or excessive or scanty menstrual bleeding.

Uterine fibroids are benign tumors formed by the monoclonal proliferation of smooth muscle cells in the myometrium, and are the most common pelvic tumors in women. This disease is common in women of childbearing age between 30 and 50 years old, and is rare before the age of 20. Generally, there are no symptoms, but symptomatic individuals may experience irregular menstruation, lower abdominal distension, and lower back pain.
