Auricular trauma

Auricular trauma refers to injuries to the auricle, which is exposed and relatively fragile on both sides of the skull, caused by various traumatic factors such as contusions, lacerations, avulsions, amputations, and firearm injuries. If not treated promptly after injury, it can lead to perichondritis, cartilage necrosis, and residual auricular deformities. Therefore, medical attention should be sought as soon as possible if such an injury occurs.

Barotrauma of the ear

Barotrauma of the ear refers to a feeling of blockage or pain in the ear when there is a rapid change in air pressure. It often occurs when flying, riding an elevator, or driving in mountainous areas. If ear barotrauma occurs during diving, it is also known as "ear squeeze." Mild ear barotrauma can cause slight ear pain and a feeling of ear blockage, while severe cases may lead to intense ear pain, dizziness, eardrum rupture, and hearing loss.
