Sinus bradycardia
Sinus bradycardia
The rhythm of a normal heartbeat is called sinus rhythm, which originates from the regular discharge of cells in the heart's sinoatrial node, with a discharge frequency typically between 60 and 100 beats per minute in adults. When the adult sinus rhythm frequency is below 60 beats per minute, it is called sinus bradycardia. Sinus bradycardia can be observed in healthy adults, especially athletes, the elderly, and during sleep. For these asymptomatic healthy adults with a heart rate below 60 beats per minute, this is not a disease but a normal phenomenon. Only when the heart rate is too slow, leading to insufficient blood supply from the heart to the entire body, will it cause corresponding symptoms or even serious consequences.
