Oral and maxillofacial tumors
Oral and maxillofacial tumors
Oral and maxillofacial tumors refer to tumors that occur in the oral cavity, salivary glands, maxilla and mandible, face, and neck. They include both benign and malignant tumors. Malignant tumors are commonly carcinomas, with a very small proportion developing into sarcomas. Benign tumors typically present as painless masses, while malignant tumors manifest as expanding indurations, protruding masses, and surface ulcerations, gradually infiltrating surrounding and deeper tissues, accompanied by pain.
