Retinal degeneration
Retinal degeneration
Retinal degeneration is a group of hereditary diseases caused by congenital dystrophy of cone and rod cells. This is a chronic, progressive eye disease, usually affecting both eyes, with very few cases being unilateral. It is characterized by night blindness, constricted visual fields, bone-corpuscle-like pigmentation in the fundus, and photoreceptor dysfunction.
