Plasmacytoma is a group of diseases characterized by the neoplastic proliferation of monoclonal plasma cells. It can be divided into the following types: Solitary plasmacytoma: The lesion is solitary and can occur in soft tissues (extramedullary plasmacytoma), bones (osseous plasmacytoma), or other organs. Multiple myeloma: It typically affects older adults, with a median age at diagnosis of around 65 years; only 10% of patients are under 50 years old.
