Ventricular premature beats
Ventricular premature beats
Ventricular premature beats (VPBs), also known as premature ventricular contractions (PVCs), refer to premature heartbeats originating from abnormal electrical activation in the ventricles, occurring before a normal heartbeat. The symptoms of VPBs vary greatly. Many patients are asymptomatic, while symptomatic individuals may experience palpitations or a "skipped beat" sensation. Patients with severe symptoms may experience fatigue, syncope, or angina.
